Services Wanted  Senior Technical Specialist

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of St. Christopher and Nevis is seeking a suitable qualified professional to fill the above position.

Job summary:
-Ensuring compliance with the international Telecommunications Union (ITU) Radio Regulations and appropriate sections of the Telecommunications Act No 2 of 2000 as amended, as it relates to Spectrum management and monitoring
-Regulatory examination, technical examination and conformity with the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) spectrum plan
-Provide technical assistance in preparation for attendance at World and Regional Radiocommunication Conferences
-Coordinate with ECTEL in matters concerning the use of frequencies and orbits by radiocommunication space related services through the UTI
-Assignment of frequencies in accordance with the ECTEL spectrum plan
-International coordination with the UTI within the framework of the UTI convention and the
Radio Regulations
-Responsible for spectrum monitoring activities of the NTRC
-Undertake additional duties relating to the functions of the NTRC as required
-Assisting the coordinator in evaluating applications for licenses and frequency authorisation
-Preparing submissions relating to applications

Skills
-University degree in telecommunications engineering or related fields (Science/Engineering/Electrical/Electronic Engineering), with some specialization in radiocommunication
-Experience in computer application to scientific and engineering fields is required
-Experience in the application of the ITU Radio Regulations will be an asset
